Delete your Mazalot account

Last updated: October 8, 2026

You can delete your Mazalot account, and the data that goes with it, at any time. The fastest way is inside the app. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email.

1. In the app (fastest)

  1. Open Mazalot and sign in.
  2. Open Settings and choose Delete account.
  3. Confirm. The app signs you out, and your deletion has started.

You do not need to email or call us.

2. Without the app, by email

  1. Email compliance@mazalot.ai from any email address, with the subject "Delete my account".
  2. In the email, write the mobile phone number you sign in to Mazalot with, including the country code (for example +1).
  3. We send a one-time code by text message to that phone number. We send it only if a Mazalot account uses that number, and our reply does not say whether one does. Reply to our email with the code. This is how we know the request comes from the person who holds the number, so that nobody can delete your account but you.
  4. Once the code matches, we start the deletion exactly as if you had asked in the app, and we reply to tell you the date it becomes permanent.

We act only on a request we can verify. If you no longer have the phone number, say so in your email and we will tell you what we can do. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply to the code. We use your email address only to handle this request, and we keep your email and our reply as proof that the deletion was done (section 4).

3. What happens next

Your account enters a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days your account still works. If you change your mind, email compliance@mazalot.ai within the 30 days and we will cancel the deletion.

After the 30 days, an automated job permanently deletes your account and its records:

  • your name, phone number and sign-in identity;
  • your birth details and birth chart;
  • your call transcripts and the conversation notes built from them;
  • the people in your list, the notes about people you mentioned, and any link with another user and its Confidant records;
  • your meditations, your purchases record and minutes, your feedback and your notification settings;
  • your chart image, your meditation audio files and the clip of the companion saying your name, which are removed from our private file storage at the latest seven days after the rest. You do not need to ask.

We also ask our voice provider, ElevenLabs, to delete each of your conversations, including the written transcript and any call recording it still keeps, right away; if that request fails, we retry every hour until ElevenLabs confirms it is done. In any case a call recording is never kept more than 30 days after the call. After that there is no way to recover your account. Unused minutes, including pack minutes, are lost and are not refunded.

4. What is kept

A few records remain after deletion, each for a stated reason and period:

  • product events, which describe how the app was used, with your account identifier removed: kept indefinitely;
  • one usage record with no identifiers (number and length of calls, minutes used, how far setup got, days from sign-up to deletion, plan): kept indefinitely;
  • the deletion log, which keeps your internal account identifier and the dates so that we can prove the deletion happened: kept indefinitely;
  • emails you sent us, such as this deletion request, a support question, a privacy request or an arbitration opt-out, and our replies, in our company mailbox: kept indefinitely, as our record of what was asked and what we did;
  • the staff audit log of any time a staff member opened one of your transcripts or listened to one of your call recordings, and the text of our staff's replies to your feedback: kept indefinitely;
  • de-identified crisis referral records (date, kind of statement and a two-letter region, with no identifier): kept indefinitely;
  • phone numbers and network addresses in our abuse-prevention table: about two days after each sign-in attempt, sometimes a little longer before cleanup;
  • birthplace search text in our place-lookup cache, with no account identifier: without a time limit;
  • reviews you posted publicly in the app stores: they stay on the stores, and we remove our guess at which account posted them;
  • entries other users made about you in their own lists, and invitations others sent to your phone number: until those users remove them. If you were linked with someone, their entry for you loses whatever came only from your account, such as your exact birth time and place; it keeps what they typed in themselves, or only your name and birth date if you joined through their invitation (Privacy Policy section 8.7);
  • copies in our providers' backups and logs, and an AI provider's short-term abuse-monitoring copies (for OpenAI, up to 30 days): until the provider's own schedule removes them;
  • records the law requires us to keep: for as long as the law requires.

The full list is in section 14 of our Privacy Policy.

5. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription

Your subscription is billed by Apple or Google, not by Mazalot. Cancel it yourself, before or after you delete your account, or the store may keep charging you:

Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases under their own policies.

6. If someone else entered your details

If you do not have an account but a Mazalot user entered your details in their own list, write to compliance@mazalot.ai with enough detail for us to find the entry, and we will take reasonable steps to locate and delete it.

7. More

Our Privacy Policy (section 15) and Terms of Service (section 23) describe deletion in full. Questions: compliance@mazalot.ai.
